An independent ranking of the finest luxury resorts on earth, from private-island hideaways to desert canyons and alpine retreats. See what sets each brand apart and where to book.

Above a certain price, the differences between luxury resorts stop being about star ratings and start being about judgement: which brand actually delivers space, privacy, and service that anticipates you, and which one is charging for a name. This site ranks the resorts and the brands behind them, from private-island hideaways to desert canyons and alpine retreats, so you can see where the money goes before you spend it.

Every entry is ranked on the things that matter once cost stops being the question: the standard of the rooms, the depth of the service, the strength of the setting, and whether the experience holds up across every property that carries the name. We write plainly, we name specifics, and we say when something is a genuine caveat rather than pretending the top of the market is flawless.

Start with the category that fits the trip you are planning, read the write-ups, and book with your eyes open. Resorts and brands can ask to be considered, but a listing is earned, not bought.
